Astroscape #3
The Blue Galaxy
Painted completely within Inkscape - December, 2023
Printed on Red River Paper’s Palo Duro, 100% cotton paper made to archival standards.
The September 2023, images from the James Webb Telescope of other galaxies were awe inspiring.
They are really works of art by themselves, and I did not want to replicate them.
After making several drafts, I opted to create a background similar another galaxy’s.
Upon the background, I created energy lines in a 21st century, vector graphic, rendition from Brice Marden
The result is another abstraction in my astroscape series.
Astroscape #3 took 3 full months to complete. Many drafts were created and discarded.
To me, and I’m fighting a trend, abstracts are not throwing paint or ink on a canvas.
Abstracts involve detailed work which requires lots of concentration until the finished project has been reached.
Red River Paper’s Palo Duro 315 paper has a texture - which enhances the appearance of the print.
A single print, what I call a monoprint, was created: 1 print - 36" x 24"
Digital prints and larger sizes are available - contact me for more information.
