Dragon Flight

24” x 36” on 100% cotton paper made to archival standards

Painted completely within a vector graphics program called Inkscape - February, 2023

This is the 3rd of my "flight" series. Similar to Flight #2, this was printed on prepared canvas.

The lines are crispy clear - again showing off the texture of canvas with a grid like pattern.

Similar to all the other pieces, creating the final print involved making a series of test prints.

After each sample run, I went back and modified Dragon Flight even more.

After each change, the computer took about 4 hours to create an output file - a lot of patience was required.

The work and changes took about a month to create Dragon Flight.

After creating the final, we let the print sit for 4 weeks.

It takes that long for ink to fully dry on canvas.

We then placed 2 layers of a coat to protect it - if the coating was done too early, the dark colors would have bled.

1 print was finished.

It is 24" wide x 36" height - printed on Hahnemühle 100% cotton paper
