Pentastic

April, 2024

24” wide x 36” height on textured paper made from 100% cellulose fibers (Hahnemühle) - created with very high archival standards

Painted completely within a vector graphics program called Inkscape - April, 2024

I created a pentagon, and then pondered - “what next?”

Every few days I returned to the pentagon and tried a number of options.

After many weeks of experimentation, the whole painting came together.

I used pentagon shapes with different sizes, colors, and textures.

They were assembled in what I thought was a playful and colorful arrangement.

The intersection of pentagons develops interesting triangular and quadrangle shapes.

This abstract is definitely not similar to throwing paint at a canvas.

It took approximately 6 weeks, along with multiple test prints, until the art came together.

1 print was finished.

Digital prints and larger sizes are available - contact me for more information/

In August, 2024, this will be exhibited at Touchstone Gallery in Washington, DC.
